Tomorrow is the big day! Again.
I know I've done this three times already, but the past experiences don't really lessen the excitement or nervousness I feel the day before A Ride to Remember. The only real reassurances I have about the ride is that I know the cause is totally worth the aches, pains, and heat, and I will finish no matter how long it takes. (I'm SO thankful it isn't a race!)
This year is a little different though in that it's special. This is the fifth anniversary of the ride and it has become the greatest one yet! There are 112 riders involved this year, which is double the number of riders from last year. We've also reached a momentous milestone in fundraising. While I was able to blow my own fundraising goal out of the water (thanks, everybody!), we broke the $100,000 mark for the ride as a whole. To put that into perspective, last year we had a good year and raised $55,000. Obviously, $100,000 is a little better than that. :)
My clothes are packed, my bike is clean, my stomach is stuffed with pizza, my heart is full of warm wishes and prayers from my friends and family, and there's iced coffee in the fridge waiting for me to jump-start my morning.
Wish me luck. I'll see you on the other side of the bridge.
